Ocala, FL, Night Of A Thousands returns with the Twisted Tea Top Gun Sprint Cars, Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators. Also, Fan Appreciation is back with $20 carloads! (A car with 5 seatbelts would get 5 people in for $20 total) This is the final shake-down before Bubba Is Thankful Weekend in 2 weeks so you won't want to miss this all out tussle.
The last Twisted Tea Top Gun Sprint Car race saw a different face in Coors Light Winner's Circle as Shawn Murray was able to beat some new faces in Brandon Grubaugh and Tony Agin at the end. Matt Kurtz had a rare DNF as he got taken out in an accident early on but he still has a sizable points lead over the field. Danny Martin, Jr. has the #82 back up to pace as he unlapped himself once and was 1 car away from twice unlapping himself in a drive that showed how he won the 2011 title. Mark Ruel, Jr. vowed to be back after a wild ride and you can never forget about Ryan Partin, Collin Cabre, Robbie Smith, and Tyler Godwin.
Kyle Bronson looks to tie a record for most wins in a single season, 13, in a division that races just 21 features! He'll have 3 shots at it but odds say #40B will visit Coors Light Winner's Circle soon. Jeff Mathews will try to spoil Bronson's party as will Dalton Lanich of the Chris Williams team. Lanich and step-father Kent Corbin are always the sentimental favorites and both have been close the last month. Never count out Garret Stewart, Lanich's team-mate, or Buzzie Reutimann as they know right where Victory Lane is. The season has been all about #40B but everyone else has everything to play for.
The Hobby Stock season has been the tightest in recent memory as the fight still isn't over. Trevor Gamble, driver of the Friend Racing #12, will unofficially clinch the title by starting the race or beating Rodney Wright in his heat. Wright would like to steal another feature win and take home that category in his Sheffield Motorsports #99. Mike Stalnaker has won a race every year since the conversion back to dirt but by running Hobby Stock-only in an underfunded car he may see his streak end; however, it would be his sweetest if he could dethrone the heavy hitters. Hunter Gustafson and Mark Maresca could call it success with a heat win but the trophy is calling their names. Don't miss the crowning of a champion and an upset that could be brewing.
Jason Gamble ended the TNT Auto Works team's nightmare 2012 with a trip to Coors Light Winner's Circle last week. Gamble will try to start his own streak (over 50% of his wins are back-to-back trips) while Shane Nichols tries to continue his dominance of the Fall Section of the year. Plenty of other drivers are still fighting for everything, including Brian Mullins and Jonathan Appleby, the 2 title contenders. After 33 features this divison has seen 13 different feature winners, including 3 first-timers, and 40 heat race winners. Diversity is the word and, with nothing ever certain in the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, it's all to play for with $1000 on the line.
The Rent-N-Roll Gladiators were looked at briefly as it seemed the championship was over, but, with Tony LaPorta losing Perfect Attendance and Brandon Haseleu reeling off 5 wins since September started the balance exists no more. Steve Johnson is the experienced driver while Haseleu is using youth and, sometimes, sheer will to keep up in the standings. The numbers are so close it's going to be decided on the final night and it's going to be a thriller for someone as they take a first career championship. Don't miss the battle that has produced more drama than NASCAR's Chase For The Cup!
Bubba's Pit Stop opens at 1, pit gates open at 4, and grandstands open at 5. Racing is scheduled for 7.
