MONSTER JAM® TO DEBUT NEW SHOW AT BUBBA RACEWAY PARK IN OCALA

by Scott McAllister
(Palmetto, FL) MONSTER JAM®, the world’s largest specialized motor sports live event tour playing to over 5 million fans annually and televised on FOX Sports 1, will debut an all-new event format at the tour’s return to Ocala and Bubba Raceway Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 17th – 19th. Looking to continue its explosive growth and attendance, Monster Jam drives into the Ocala / Gainesville market following record setting sold out 2015 events inside Florida’s major stadium venues including Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, Orlando’s Citrus Bowl Stadium, and Jacksonville’s EverBank Field. 1,500-horsepower, 10,000-pound Monster Jam Trucks will headline the Bubba Raceway Park event, but will compete in a new and never before seen format and competition. For the first time, 8 Monster Jam trucks will compete in Ocala (previous shows featured 6 trucks), with the monster trucks split into 2 teams creating a team versus team competition format. Never before and maybe never again, Team Grave Digger will feature FOUR Grave Digger team trucks including Grave Digger The Legend, Son Uva Digger, Grave Digger, and a to be announced 4th Grave Digger team truck. The four-truck Grave Digger team will face off against a team of Monster Jam’s bad boys including Mohawk Warrior, Monster Mutt Rottweiler, Metal Mulisha, and Dooms Day. Fans will be thrilled by eight of the biggest names on the Monster Jam World Tour, with 7 of these 8 trucks having never before appeared in Ocala. Equally as… read more

7/23/13. Ocala, FL- After Bubba rained out for consecutive weeks for the first time in his reign on the oldest track in Florida, we hope to get one week-end of racing in the books in July. The Florida Mini Sprints make their third trip to Bubba Raceway Park and the E-Mods, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators will join them for a fantastic night of racing.

Shane Nichols holds on to a fifteen point lead over Shane Taylor in the E-Mod division, even though Nichols has four wins in six features this season. Shawn Taylor makes it a true "name game" as he is stuck in third. Charlie Howard, Jr. and Roy Crain are 100 or more back, but they have climbed into the top five as they inch closer to the front.

Devin Walker has built up a massive championship lead over Brian Shea, but Shea has updated his equipment and could put on a rally that would challenge his 2011 Thunder Stock title run. Hunter Gustafson, equal on wins with Walker at two-a-piece, is third, but he must fight hard to hold off the challenge from Sean Monoghan and Dennis Williams. Monoghan and Williams haven't committed to a full season, but they always challenge up front.

William Gillam, Brandon Elwood, and Melvin Fockler have put on the best championship battle thus far as Gillam took his first career victory and holds a four point lead over two-time winner (both this season) Elwood. Fockler had a rough start to the year, but has out-scored the front two by nearly fifty points over the last two months. Tony Campbell and Brandon Tillander have hit some rough patches, but they still sit within 150 points with more than enough time to make it up.

Stephen Frankland, a six time winner in 2012, holds a lead of 168 points over Bill Southard as he chases his first championship in the United States. Tom Sheehan had a hired gun in his #75 last time out and they found some speed that could propel Sheehan to his first career victory and even into second in the championship. Josh Fincher has slipped to over 250 out and Tyler Bryden continues to impress, even though he's 280 points out.

As of June 1st, Dirk Miller holds a twenty-seven marker lead over Eddie Moss, Jr. as Miller chases his first title. Moss comes off of a trip to the Upper Midwest where he tested his talents against some of the best Mini Sprints in the United States, but returns to some pretty tough competition in it's own right. Nick Snyder sits thirty-nine back in third with a win to his credit at Bubba Raceway Park, David Hall is seventy-one out in fourth and Jody McKenzie is over a race out in fifth.

Pits open at 4, stands open at 5, and racing is scheduled for 7. For more info, please visit www.bubbaracewaypark.com or call us at 352-622-9400.
