On lap 3 Eddie Kilbury, Jr. tapped the wall and went around and Joe Boyd made slight contact with the 17. Justin Durbin slowed to avoid and Shane Nichols, Jonathan Appleby, Glenn Baum, and "JonBoy" Jon Layerd joined the 7 car pile-up. A few more cautions forced the race to go just 15 laps. On lap 11 Brian Mullins made the first official pass for the lead when Jason Gamble washed up in turn 4; however, he earned it back on lap 14 when Mullins was slowed by lapped traffic. A 1 lap dash wasn't enough for driver #28 and Gamble beat him to the line. Donnie Dobbins was a very quiet, yet solid, 3rd, Jonathan Appleby a strong 4th, and Justin Durbin completed the top 5.

The Summer Spectacular At Bubba Raceway Park

Ocala, FL- Bubba Raceway Park has a special event line up for the next two week-ends, the first of which is the Summer Spectacular this Friday and Saturday (June 21st and 22nd). On Friday, the Bubba Army Late Models will have a Practice Session, while the Hobby Stocks and 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks will Qualify and Heat Race. On Saturday, the Late Models will race for $3000, while the Hobby Stocks and Thunder Stocks will each battle for $2000. The E-Mods will join the fun on Saturday night. Only three races have been run this season, but the three winners have been usuals in Kyle Bronson, Darrell Padgett, and Mark Whitener. Rich Pratt is the points leader in his Groeb Farms #0, a gap he hopes to build upon with a victory. Pratt has won in his UMP Modified this season, but Tyler Clem will try to stop him and take his own Winghouse #14 to the top step after his first career Limited Late Model win last week.
