Ocala, FL, September 6, 2014 – The rains held off over Bubba Raceway Park, for the 4th Annual P.J. Wiggins Memorial. Drivers and fans were in for a real treat as the top modified racers in Florida were on hand to honor one of their own.

E-Mods were first to roll out onto the track, with rookie contenders Austin Stroshal (15) and Dave Markham Jr. (18M) starting on the front row. At the drop of the green flag Stroshal and Markham would make a charge for the lead only to be over taken as veteran driver Shane Williams (21) would make it three wide to take the lead. With anticipation of a new winner in this division fans thought Williams had this race wrapped up when on lap 11 he would slow and make the sharp right hand turn into the pits with mechanical issues. Williams relinquished the lead to 5 time winner Kyle Arvin (96) who would have smooth sailing to the checkered taking home his 6th win of the season, followed by Dave Markham Jr. (18), Stroshal (15), Williams (21) and rounding out the top five with Tom Sheehan (00).

Hobby Stocks were next to take to the track, as William Edwards (08E) who is lurking for his first feature win of the season and Rick Elwood (92) who already has two feature wins under his belt, would set the pace to the green. Elwood would jump to an early lead until a caution on lap 5 between Cory Hupp (22) and Edwards would restack the field in a side by side restart. Elwood would choose the inside leaving the out side for Joe Forsyth (17F). Forsyth likes the outside and on the restart took the lead and never looked back. “Throw It In Joe” Joe Forsyth (17F) made it two in a row, with another feature win, followed closely by Sean Monohan (21M), Elwood (92) David Arivett (76) and Hupp (22).

With a lot of new driver in cars The Florida T.Q. Late Models roared out of the pits, with John Hopke (H2) and Kevin McKenzie (7) starting on the front row. J. Hopke would jump to an early lead and lead lap number one of the 20 lap feature. J. Hopke would be over taken by his son Dalton Hopke (H1) on lap two. D. Hopke would hold his lead till lap 13 when he would be over taken by Terry Wright (007) who would lead to the checkered. Following Wright across the checkered would be D. Hopke, J. Hopke, Ray Garvin (45) and McKenzie.

Modifieds were next as this class showed in large numbers for the 4th Annual P.J. Wiggins Memorial and the $2500 dollar payday. Buzzy Reutimann (00B) set fast time and won one of the 3 heat races, to prove age does not matter and he is here to take home the cash. Second heat race would go to previous winner, Paul Snyder (54) and third heat race would go to Nascar Driver, David Reutimann (00D). The dash for cash would reset the top six starters; Snyder took advantage of that bringing with the win, and insuring the number 1 starting position for the 40 lap feature event.

Snyder and Kyle Bronson (44) would bring the full field of cars to the green flag and put the fans on their feet. Bronson would jump to an early lead followed by B. Reutimann and then D. Reutimann as Snyder was slipping through the field. As it appeared that Bronson began to drive away, many asked was B. Reutimann just riding. In a race that saw youth verses age and experience who would be the victor. Lap 30 saw a caution for the youth driver Kyle Bronson (44) as he would retire his machine to the pits with a broken driveshaft, relinquishing the lead to the legendary Buzzy Reutimann. The last 10 laps of the race saw B. Reutimann being challenged by son D. Reutimann, D. Reutimann tried inside, outside and everything he could to get around his Dad but could not do it as Buzzy Reutimann became the 4th different winner of the P.J. Wiggins Memorial Races. B. Reutimann would be followed across the stripe by D. Reutimann. Snyder would regain his composure and come home 3rd followed by Dalton Lanich (51) and Roger Crouse (9) rounding out the top five.

V-8 Thunder Stocks showed up in full force with 20 cars slated to take the green flag for their feature event. On the point would be Shane Taylor (82) and outside would be Melvin Fockler (22), these two paced the field to the green flag. Taylor would lead lap number one when a caution would be thrown for Jeff Bear (3) slowing on the track. After a series of cautions flags which would include the two leaders Fockler and Taylor, sending Fockler to the back of the field and Taylor to the pits, race control decided to go to single file restart. Gene Posey Jr. (56) would jump to the lead and survive 4 more caution flags to take the checkered flag and his 3rd win of his rookie season. Following Posey to the checkered would be Jonathan Appleby (69A), Joey Durbin (55), Marlon Durbin (1M) and new comer Andy Hicks (113).

Gladiators would see its biggest field of the season with 11 cars slated to take the green flag for its double points, double money feature event. Brad Fender (69X) would lead flag to flag for his first feature win at Bubba Raceway Park in the 2014 season. Following Fender would be Teddy Morrison (711), Robert Gullett (2), Christopher Thomas (5) and rounding out the top 5 would be Randall Newman (99).
